For example, there is a finite number of Bitcoins—which is why people are mining for them, trying to find them before they run out. On the other hand, Dogecoins are made on-demand, meaning that the market is flooded with them all the time. What does this mean? Well, assets lose value as supply rises, especially when investors know where there is a massive supply. On the other hand, demand rises when there is a limited supply, thus driving up the price. That’s why it might be interesting that Robinhood ($HOOD@US) holds one-third of all Dogecoin in circulation, but that’s a far cry from owning, say, one-third of all Bitcoin.
