The stricken cruise ship Azamara Quest is heading to Malaysia from the Philippines, escorted by a flotilla of boats as it traverses dangerous waters.
The luxury liner has been repaired after an engine room fire which injured five crew on Saturday (March 31) and is sailing towards Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia, the owners Azamara Club Cruises have said.
A flotilla was went to escort the ship on its journey through waters prone to militant attacks and pirates. Several Philippine Navy ships and a vessel from the U.S. Navy are escorting the liner as it heads towards Malaysia.
Malaysian authorities are awaiting the ship's arrival at the maritime border.
The ship is carrying 600 passengers, mostly Americans and Europeans, and a crew of 411.
