Critically endangered elephant calf born

The Sumatran elephant is critically endangered – but a calf has been born in Indonesia, renewing hopes for conservation efforts essential to prevent the protected species from extinction. The 104kg female calf was born at the Buluh Cina nature tourism park in Sumatra.
