how could you love me
when my soul is like sand
pouring out of my heart
and into your hand?

you leave my stomach in knots
begging on my knees
your negligent love
was my perfect disease.

this too shall pass
like yesterday and tomorrow
and i will not die
of such beautiful sorrow.
