Description
The opening day of the Nations League Swan One Design at the Copa del Rey MAPFRE regatta was marked by an adrenaline-fueled display of yacht racing at its finest.
In the ClubSwan 50 class, it was a neck-to-neck competition between Moonlight, led by Graeme Peterson, and Earlybird, helmed by Hendrik Brandis, with each team alternately clinching the top two positions in the two races. The ClubSwan 42 class was undeniably dominated by José María Meseguer's Pez de Abril, winning both races in the day.
This thrilling start set the tone for the rest of the week, underscoring the high-level competition and sailing prowess present in the regatta. As the yachts docked, the shoreside atmosphere was electric, with participants and spectators eagerly looking forward to the races ahead.
