A recently released prisoner is trying to bring attention to the conditions and abuse that happen at prisons, through a petition signed by him and 41 prisoners. They claim prisoners are deprived of adequate food, water, exercise, and proper sanitation systems. These issues have long plagued Malaysian prisons but do we fully understand the consequences of poor governance in prisons and places of detention?
