Today on MD-VOD, Dr. John Kennedy is joined by board certified cardiologist and electrophysiologist, Dr. Kevin Campbell. Together they answer your questions from Facebook and Twitter regarding congestive heart failure. They further discuss the consequences and the realities of living with congestive heart failure, including insurance coverage, related costs, treatment and diagnosis. Heart failure affects nearly 5 million Americans and roughly half a million people are diagnosed with heart failure each year. It is a very important disease because it is the leading cause of hospitalization in people 65 and older.

Guest expert, Dr. Kevin Campbell was born and raised in North Carolina. He received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and graduated valedictorian in 1992. He attended medical school at Wake Forest University and graduated at the top of the class in 1996. Dr Campbell trained in Internal Medicine and completed his Internship and Residency at the University of Virginia in 1999. From there, he completed fellowships in both Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at Duke University. A nationally recognized expert in prevention of sudden cardiac death, Dr Campbell speaks all across the US to physicians, physicians in training, as well as civic groups. These dynamic symposia are designed to raise awareness and facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of women at risk for cardiovascular disease and death. His efforts have led to the creation of prevention programs in many cities across the US.
