Description

As election day draws near, members of the Thai election commission have suggested pushing back the February 2nd election for at least one month.

Protesters who want Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to step down have been blocking roads and staging demonstrations for weeks.

Compromise between the ruling party and the opposition seems farther and father away.

Sunday a protest leader was killed and 12 others injured making protest leaders even more firm in their resolve NOT to negotiate with the government.

The commission is set to meet with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Tuesday, although members of her government have said they would not back down on the date.
