This is a special episode in association with IIT Bombay's cultural festival - Mood Indigo, Asia's largest college festival; featuring 'Common Thread', the winners of the Hindi Rock band competition 'Mantra'.

Common Thread started out in early 2016 as a college band with partially a different line up than the current one. This line up came together in 2017 and stood victorious in some of the prestigious nationwide competitions including Mood Indigo'17, IIT Bombay and Antaragni'17, IIT Kanpur with also the ideology of not just being involved in the college scene but to take this music forward and establish the band in the indie music scenario with our own kind of sound incorporated into our original content. This band comprises of people who are individually into a variety of genres and styles of music ranging from progressive rock and hardcore metal to contemporary jazz and funk. We try to use these vast influences to create something new in terms of already existing tonality and vibe. We have been working on our original content and we keep in mind, while in this process, to try not to associate our band to a particular type of sound and try to make our tracks sound more differentiated from one another. We are currently working on our debut single which we will be releasing pretty soon for which we couldn't be more excited. As for the future, we aim at keeping the same enthusiasm in the band towards our music and help each other grow and learn as musicians and spread this beautiful art form to the masses.
