comatose - the promise

the sincerity in your eyes is washing me offshore
mumbling as we touch the unspoken word
the meaning had been left to rot in past days
and in clouded skies

i reach for you
in teary eyes i wait

short lasting moments are running like a trance
goodbyes are sweet if it's not going to last
waiting for that wandering footprints to end here at my side
where im looking for the traces and the leftovers

so i merge crowded picture frames and chained the moments that you were here
chasing shadows to nowhere

but then again maybe there is hope for my sadness to lead me to your grace-sharing shade

til then i'll be sheltered from the running time
grown old with a wishful heart
a promise kissed a thorn on my chest
