Henna (Lawsonia inermis), is basically a shrub, the leaves of this shrub are used for making henna. The art of henna comprises of simple henna designs for hands, like- leaves, flowers and animal drawings to name a few.

Henna on hands gives a cooling effect. Generally, henna is kept on the hands for about 4-5 hours, but many leave it on overnight, in order to get that deep red color.
