Colombia: Paramilitary Forces Undermine Peace Process

Paramilitary forces in Colombia are regrouping, reorganizing, and in some cases taking the initiative in seizing new territory. Their continued presence is a major cause for concern and threatens the peace process, according to Camilo Gonzalez, head of the Institute for Peace Studies. An Institute report indicates 14 paramilitary structures with a presence in 330 municipalities.
