Description

As the 30th Anniversary of what is known as the “Palace of Justice Siege” draws near, relatives of those who were forcibly disappeared denounce the impunity surrounding the cases. During a 1985 attempt to recover the building from the M-19 guerrilla group that occupied it, eleven people were openly taken out of the Palace alive by the armed forces, but have never been returned to their families. Lawmakers have denounced the failure of the justice system to clarify the truth about what happened to the disappeared people. These are only a few of the estimated 45,000 people forcibly disappeared in Colombia. Natalia Margarita reports from Bogata for teleSUR.
