Cody Simpson - A Self-Criticism

He drags his skull
Into the library,
Holding on firmly
To books and abstractions.
He reads by candlelight,
No money for electricity
In the dank apartment he inhabits.
He designs philosophies
Like others design cars,
A new paradigm every year.
And when he dies,
Who will publish the lifelong bachelor;
All these papers left behind,
The papyri of an earlier life
That yellow in a trunk.
