In September of 2000, Paul Pierce had his life saved by Boston Celtics teammate Tony Battie and Battie's brother when the siblings rushed the small forward to the hospital after he was stabbed 11 times. Sixteen years later, Pierce, now a member of the Los Angeles Clippers, returned to Boston as a visitor.
