Clancy's Jack Ryan returns to save the world

He's the hero that's saved the world in books and on film several times over.

And now's he's back.

Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan is in Moscow this time, uncovering a Russian plot to crash the U.S. economy with a "terrorist" attack.

At the launch of "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" in LA, Hollywood veteran Kevin Costner said this type of story never gets old.

"Spy movies, there are always going to be a place for them in Hollywood, same as Westerns, there's just going to be a place for them and love stories and comedies, it's what we do, and the better we do them, the better it is for people who like to sit in the dark."

Chris Pine, also known as Star Trek's Captain Kirk, fills Ryan's shoes this time around.

He follows in the footsteps of Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck.

He said they weren't easy shoes to fill.
