Claire Lang - Sludge

I know I'll regret this
I already am
Disappointment is the red paint
Anger is the yellow
Sadness, blue
Terror and jealousy, vibrant turquoise.
Together, bright.
They get attention
Add something
that will heal.
if you mix them together
it makes a terrifying
disgusting
ugly
mix of pains
and paint.
pour the paint of pain
into the vat of liquid concrete
inject it with a dull
bloody needle
into my veins
and you can watch
as the sludge barely moves
snaking through the little blue threads
until my heart
stops.
