CIC decision astonishing, shocking: Congress

NewsX: Congress has rejected the CIC order on bringing political parties under RTI ambit, contending that such "adventurist" approach would harm democratic institutions. AICC General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi said that the decision is unacceptable to the party. The Central Information Commission HAD yesterday said that the parties are public authorities and answerable to citizens under RTI Act.
