You spoke!
For the first time in a while,
I was astonished to hear from you,
You spoke, in such a simple style.

My heart raced as the words came,
Dripping from your lips like gold,
You spoke! And I cried,
For what I knew was already foretold.

You spoke, but the words I heard,
Sent a shock through my veins,
A whispered goodbye,
Sent me into pouring rains.

You spoke but not for me.
And with a heavy heart,
I'll leave your voice be,
For it was never mine from the start.
