A Departed Child

Console me God when I lose a loved one
Allow me to accept it; as 'your will be done'.
Let not the loss produce anger and everlasting sorrow
But wisdom and knowledge to reflect on the word tomorrow.

Let my belief in what you have taken from me
Will be given life and love again to feel and to see.
They will always occupy a part of my heart and mind
That in my belief it is you; they will find.

Tho it appears that their life was not complete
The purpose of departure not to leave but rather to greet.
Let them come to you as they came to me
Something to be loved; to feel; to touch and see.

A child they were and a child they are
Accompany them on the journey and let it not be far.
And thoughout my remaing years
When remberance brings on the tears.

Let it be for the gift and for them I have no fears.
