Christopher Mendoza - The Repeating Dream

There you stand
in the sand, with a hand
extended keeping me tempted
to reach out and take such a blessing

Doubts erased from my mind
there assigned to be confined
as this clumsy side of me
watches in aw of such a beautiful moment

Always the same scene
so serene like a vaccine
enters my veins for removing this pain
that's been buried in my skin

But as I wake
This state falls back to debate
with reality of you lady
not anywhere to be seen or heard

Mind boggling
I'm found crawling and screaming
in place like a nutcase
as I beg for the image to return

walking among this world
I find you here unfurled
in the flesh so real
looking so casual

I'm here waiting and wanting
as your haunting
My dreams so it seems
But in fact were in contact
and our situation seems whack

I'll let you know I will hold and not let go
by your command I will Take your hand
and show you this reservation
of a bond untold

for this passing dream
is here again
when my eyes find sleep
and so this process repeats
