Christopher Kane plays Dr.Frankenstein

STORY: Christopher Kane's Spring/Summer collection for 2013 brought in muted and nude tones, cotton candy pinks, and then added a harder edge with gaffer tape and rubber.

Kane used ribbons and bows as decoration and sewed the bows to look like neck screws in a nod to Frankenstein's monster.

Known for his use of different materials, Kane used perspex nuts and bolts to hold together the designs, including pencil skirts with vertically folded tops.

"It's working with new techniques and we're building a really rich archive. It's so very us and so very Christopher Kane," Kane said.

There was a richness to the work with sequined and lace decoration on the tops and skirts made from fine mesh fabrics.

The show was held in an office block on London's Oxford Street - at the heart of the UK's high-end shopping.

The collection used biker jackets mixed with more sophisticated cuts, giving a far reaching appeal beginning with younger fashion fans.
