Description

The wind gently weeps as we all walk the same old road
And we meet some who walked here before
Some hiding in the shadows, some running freely in the light
Some bearing heavy burdens and others bringing hope

And they spread there hope of change throughout each corner
Of this long and endless winding path
And the sound of bare feet pounding against a worn and trodden ground
Reached one man alone who heard a rhythm in the sound

So he listened to the wind, hummed its melody
And it soon became a song, so unlike them all
He wandered off the road
Worked his fingers to the bone
By the light of the moon
Till the breaking of the dawn
And he took what he had made, began to softly play
As he withdrew into himself, reached into his soul
The earth brightened and the clouds
Parted high up in the sky
And every bleeding heart
Was mended by the melody
Each day they gathered in the woods to hear that sweetest lay
Each night they gathered by the sea to find healing in the song

And he played that cherished song until he died
Till the day that he died
And he died with the music in his heart
And a smile on his face
He’s not gone; he lingers on in all who follow him
He’s not gone, so carry on just as he did.
If you listen closely to a gentle breeze at night
You can still hear him play
And when you feel that all your hope has disappeared
You might still hear his song
He’s not gone; he lingers on in all who dare to dream
He’s not gone, so carry on just as he did.
