Description

I wake to your gentle breathing,
Kissing your sides
Ready to love and enjoy you all day.
You do not reciprocate,
Selfish dreams put on hold for another night.
Elation turns to frustration
As you stumble past me to the bathroom
Perfecting your disgruntled face
While I fall back exhausted
With your negative emotion
Weighing down my spirit.
Your impatience pains me
And I do not understand
How waking in the morning
Can cause you such misery
That you need to unload onto me.
I fall back asleep, remembering
The days when you were full of life
And showered me with your love.
I miss the sweetness of your kisses
To start my day off right
And hearing how much you adore me
To get me through the darkest of days.
