Chris Sterling - post notes

i wrote you a letter
but burned it out of fear
scared to let my emotions for you into the light of day
afraid you'll laugh at me
and think that i'm a fool
but really i'd rather just have sent it
so no matter what happens in this life
you'll have known how i felt and feel
but now you're gone
laying next to him in his big brass bed
safe from the cold
why i sit alone, thinking of ways to pass my time
without thinking of you for even a second
but i can't, so i go crazy
and i write words that dont make sense to anyone but me
and others who lost their hearts along the side of lovers lane
where all thats left is remnants of better times
and promises that built a symphony of pure love
a symphony of a world with no pain, no fear
just a road from where we are to where we want to be
but now i just sit alone, thinking of you
i should have sent that letter...
