My father would try to explain
how time taken revenge against time.
But sticken with monsterous hunger
in our little stomacks
we never wished to understand those high talks.
Instead we chewed the tough breads
gotten from charity meals.
And, expressionless,
we looked at our father
while he seriously continued
with his memorable
...of dining with Nehru.
