Chloe Mishler - Tearful Smiles

A smile and a tear,
both expressions caused by grief.
The loss creates the stream of tears,
while memories start the smile.
Remembering is difficult,
but letting go,
is even harder.
Memories linked only to pain and sadness,
continue to bring pain and sorrow.
Then the cycle is broken,
broken by the peaceful and happy,
moments of the past,
that always fight tears with smiles.
