Chitresh Jhawar - A Happy Deadman.

Just now I'm told that I’m alive
Only now I know that I also have a life
Oh! How beautiful it’s to laugh
But I don’t even remember the last time when i laughed
The oldest thing I remember is my birth
I still remember when I reached this elegant earth
I founded myself crying betwixt the roads
People were watching me as I was an open hoard
But none of them came to steal it
They all went away calling me a twit
From that second I’m crying and twinging
My soul creeping and my heart burning
No one taught me how to smile
I only knew to beguile
I cheat myself everyday
By saying I’m happy and gay.
But the reality is I’m not!
A dead man can be happy only by troth
Yes! I’m dead; I was dead since my birth
I only lived for some hours in that dirt
But today in this graveyard I was known
I’ve the ability to live on my own
I’m a living-dead but now at least I can laugh
On myself and the living men who naff.
