Chipotle Expands to Middle East

Chipotle has signed a franchise agreement with Alshaya Group, based in Kuwait, to open its first-ever Middle East locations next year. This marks its first venture into a new market with a local franchise partner. The initial plan includes two locations each in Dubai and Kuwait, with specific sites yet to be determined. Alshaya Group, known for working with other major brands like Starbucks, Shake Shack, and Texas Roadhouse, was chosen for its market experience and alignment with Chipotle's "Food with Integrity" values. Chipotle's partnership with Alshaya Group in the Middle East will guarantee effective execution in critical areas like real estate, hiring, and supply chain management, with plans for expansion if the initial locations prove successful, potentially establishing a blueprint for future market expansions.
