Chinese slacklining contest

At a height of over 3,500 feet – more than 1km – eight Chinese slackliners have taken part in a daring race in Zhangjiajie, in China’s southern Hunan province, December 23.
The competition was to find who was fastest to cross a 140-metre long, 2.5cm-wide piece of flat webbing known as a slackline stretched between scenic mountains.
Some participants dressed up as blue-skinned characters from Avatar, in a nod to the Unesco-listed site’s role as an inspiration for scenery in the blockbuster movie.
