Chinese Protests Affect Stocks
Description
Chinese shares listed in the U.S. dropped in premarket trading on Monday amid protests across China over its Covid Zero policies. E-commerce giants Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. ($BABA@China) and JD.com Inc. ($JD@China) dropped by 2 percent each. KraneShares CSI China Internet Fund ($KWEB@China), which holds more than 40 Chinese stocks, fell 0.8 percent. The MSCI China Index remains down 27 percent for the year as of Friday’s close, as investors watch for Beijing to ease its strict Covid policies.
