China Tech Struggles, Stocks Slide
Description
World share markets remained stagnant on Thursday as investors awaited key central bank meetings the following week. Wall Street futures declined due to disappointing earnings from Netflix and Tesla. While there were some gains in Asian and commodities markets following China's additional economic support pledge, tech stocks in China struggled. European markets eventually nudged higher, driven by increased metals prices and a 2.3% rise in wheat prices after Russia's actions in Ukraine. The upcoming central bank meetings in Japan, Europe, the United States, and the Bank of England were closely monitored by investors. Concerns about China's economic recovery persisted, leading to expectations of fiscal stimulus from the government. Analysts anticipated a 4 trillion yuan stimulus package announcement at the July Politburo meeting.
