China launched three satellites into space for scientific experiments on Saturday (July 20), state media reported.

The three satellites, Chuangxin-3, Shiyan-7 and Shijian-15, were launched by a Long March-4C carrier rocket at 7:37 a.m. (2337GMT FRIDAY JULY 19) on Saturday morning, China's state broadcaster CCTV cited the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center as saying.

The satellites are expected to carry out observations and scientific experiments on space maintenance technologies, CCTV said.

The Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center told CCTV, this was the 179th launch by a Long March rocket.
