China's 'futuristic elevated bus' abandoned

Footage has emerged from China of an abandoned elevated bus, famously written about as the future of public transport earlier this year.

The video, filmed in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province on Monday, shows the “straddling bus” covered in dust and completely abandoned in the middle of a road, although it looks like cars are still able to go underneath.

The special elevated bus was tested in August and was due to be tested again in September, but the project has been postponed over safety concerns.
