Chhavi Anupam - Getting introduced

These days
am getting introduced
to myself
each day
afresh,

as I
peep into the mirror;
what marvels
age does
no………not dimming

or graying,
but
it sets in
this estrangement
with oneself,

you want
to hide away
in a cocoon
from the stranger
who stares back

from the mirror,
you stumble
while running away
you murmur
we used to be friends

what happened
…….now strangers,
‘anyway…. we are getting
introduced now’
the mirror whispers!
