Chevron Hit With $1M Penalty
Description
Chevron settled with the DOJ over improper renewable fuel credit generation, paying a $1M civil penalty and retiring $3.6M worth of credits. The company had invalidly generated 2.2M+ Renewable Identification Numbers in 2022 by double-counting renewable diesel already used for credit generation.
