Your scent still lingers
hours after you’ve left.
This place that surrounds me,
bounds me, taunting me
because you are not here,
though I'm sure I feel you.
Time will release me
from this hollowness
but time also empties out my soul.
My Ally.
My Enemy.
My Friend.
My Foe.
I lay awake
hoping the cold will numb my senses;
without you I am defenseless.
I wander without rhythm or direction.
You are my inspiration.
My muse.
The reason for life.
My reason to breathe.
Without you life would be colorless,
For you are an infinite rainbow
in a world of gray.
You are the light
That saved me from suicide,
That freed my mind from
this shallow way of thinking,
And pulled me from this abyss.
You are the person I love.
The person I adore.
The one I was made for.
Without you my destiny is ruined,
stars would fall from the sky,
and the last true love on the planet would die.
