Cheryl Cole set for US X Factor

Singer and TV star Cheryl Cole is reportedly close to signing up to be a judge on the forthcoming US version of hit show The X Factor.

Simon Cowell is said to have been in talks with Cole for some time over a role in the series.

Pop stars Katy Perry and Nicole Scherzinger have also been linked to the show after successful appearances on the UK version.

Meanwhile, Cole's ex-husband Ashley is said to be keen for the singer to move out of the Surrey mansion the couple formerly shared.

The footballer gained the house as part of the divorce settlement, and after his current home was burgled Ashley is reported to want to return to the couple's £4.5 million property as soon as possible.
