Tonight I drive
with you on my mind
Crying and wondering
why i left you behind

I hope you'll forgive me
but i must be frank
I would have kept driving
but there was little in my tank

You see her quit often
hell, probably everyday
I let you have your space
and i guess thats the price i'll have to pay

The night started out happy
great thoughts were running through my head
I thought this would be the night for us
but i found her in your arms instead

I thought things would get better
and i realize now, they dont
I tried to ingore it and be happy
but since its her, i know i wont

I cant do it anymore
I cant fight a war i know i'll lose
I knew that she liked you
that didnt come as new news

But what is new to my conscience
is my undying love for you
its surpassed anything ive ever imagined
I cant even explain it to you

May god take my soul
and lock it up tight
That is what i wished for
On this drive i took tonight
