Charlie Getz - Denial

slumped by the window
staring out through the blinds
outside seams peaceful,
mellow and sublime

I wish I could go
whenever I pleased
I wish my sickness died
so I could feel the breeze

with tears in my eyes
I stare and wonder
could I be still like a tree
or roll like the thunder

its another universe outside
beautiful and bright
even the cold rain
lights up my life

im scared to open up
im not sure what ill find
what if the beautiful things
where all in my mind

I’ve heard awful rumors
but only seen wonderful things
what if going outside
ruins all of my dreams

slumped by the window
with a smile on my face
so my view of outside
will never be changed
