Charles M. Moore - Benjamin and Joe

Benjamin was full of sorrow
Benjamin was full of woe
for Benjamin had done the dirty
on his long term best friend Joe

Joe had always stood close by him
Joe was there through thick and thin
when they started going to school
Joe would go with Benjamin

They lived through the troubled years
through each others ups and downs
all through school and all through college
Benjamin and Joe were found

They both gained full time employment
at the local factory
Benjamin cut out the parts
that Joe packed in assembly

On a Friday they went dancing
Joe liked dancing, Joe was good
Saturday was football day
a game Joe never understood

One weekend when Joe was poorly
Ben went dancing on his own
met a girl and soon got friendly
friends so much he took her home

Joe was livid at the prospect
Benjamin found someone else
she had always been his girlfriend
now she felt left on the shelf

Joe sent Benjamin a letter
calling him a so and so
full of tears and full of anger
she told Benjy where to go,

Benjamin was full of sorrow.............
