Today is
the same day
I was born and
I am the same age
as Jesus was
before he
met his creator
before he let
himself get nailed
onto the cross
while befriending a thief
waiting
for mercy
shattered by tears
of an ending existence
counting off seconds
watching
the movement
of the Three o’ clock sun...
I see my reflection of
thirty three years inside
the mirror of salad days
and remember the youth
of fools gone by
and walk out into a city
where I’ll make it a point
not to forget
how he walked
immortality home
