Life is really but a preparation for death
We ought to live it exceedingly well
That when we have drawn and exhaled our final breath
We won't be stranded on the brink of hell. We must do more than just live exceedingly well
For all the good we do will be for naught
If the inspired word we have heard does not compel
Us to profess what our Savior has taught. To accept that we're here as a part of GOD's plan
To learn from HIM of what is good or bad
Seeking out and following throughout our life span
With actions and deeds to make others glad. Let it not matter that life on earth is so brief
Longevity is least of what's involved
That GOD will reward all of us is my belief
Through salvation when is our sins are resolved. It is how we live and what we truly believe
That constitute the substance of our ways
Our actions alone will not cause us to receive
Compassion and mercy throughout our days. Let us not fill our time on earth with worldly quest
The BIBLE tells us of many who did
The ones we should follow were those who did their best
To learn from Our FATHER and to do as HE bid. Love for and forgiveness of all must be out guide
Let on to love be our greatest desire
Let our hearts be a place for HIS truth to reside
Leave no hidden hold for sin to acquire. When I think of the scant time that we have on earth
Compared to the immeasurableness
Of the magnitude of forever from our birth
I am brought to my knees with humbleness. The closer I draw near to the end of my breath
The easier it is for me to know
That life is truly a preparation for dearth
With JESUS waiting where I am to go.
