Days and weeks fly past,
The clock hand moves round,
The calender pages are flipped,
The sun rises and falls-
Cycles that never seem to end

Yet through all these,
Things and people change,
Attitudes are altered,
Mindsets have shifted-
Processes that are inevitable

But it doesn't cease to hurt,
The pain doesn't abate,
The confusion doesn't ebb away,
The loss doesn't disappear-
Emotions you wish don't exist

Relationships disintegrated,
Friendships demolished,
The trust, the faith,
The unquestioning belief-
All gone

All that is left are tears,
The only semblence of emotion,
The only mark that love once existed,
The only remains of what used to be-
Now just smithereens I cannot salvage
