Change 'juvenile' definition in rape cases?
Description
The Juvenile Justice Board declaring the sixth accused in the Nirbhaya gangrape case as a minor, reigniting a major debate across the country, bringing into sharp focus the lowering of age of a juvenile. The Juvenile Justice Board ruling out the bone density test and taking into consideration the school certificate, now the sixth accused will not face trial in the Special Court but will be booked under the Juvenile Justice Act and will face a board consisting of a Judicial Magistrate and two social workers.
