Challenges for BSE’s StAR MF platform
Description
Omkeshwar Singh, head of BSE’s StAR MF, told Mint that as a platform it is dependent on the back-office processing of RTAs (registrar and transfer agents). “The connect between the order processing which happens on the exchange and then connecting with RTAs and getting a response back needs to be streamlined,” he said. As a platform, he said, BSE StAR MF cannot do a KYC. “New investors have to go through an intermediary and do a KYC and then only can access StAR MF platform,” he added.
