Central America is the thin section of land that links the North American continent with the South American continent. It is generally considered part of the continent of North America, but is often referred to as its own region, actually is a tapering isthmus running from the southern extent of Mexico to the northwestern portion of South America, bordered by Mexico to the north, Colombia to the southeast, the Caribbean Sea to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west and south. Central America consists of seven countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama, Spanish is still the most common language.
