The Celtics went down by 26 in a must win game vs the Heat to begin their mini series, before storming back in the second half behind seven Evan Fournier threes to within six at the final buzzer, a 130-124 loss. Jimmy Butler peppered Marcus Smart and the Celtics defense with shots to pace Miami's offense ahead of Boston's comeback. Bam Adebayo scored consistently throughout, while veteran newcomer Trevor Ariza had a throwback performance against the lagging Celtics defense. Boston now sits two games behind Miami for the six seed ahead of Tuesday while the Hornets near them for seven, with the play in tournament looking nearly inevitable. Robert Williams III tried to play through turf toe, but exited the game at halftime.
