CDM Anderson - Trust and Society

It's probably wrong to say that trust is hard to give
But how can you dispense such an expensive trait if people don't even deserve it?
You try it out for awhile, and then guess what?
You get screwed over.
Were you surprised?
Were you upset?
Mildly so, I'd say so; yes, you were.
But you gave yourself up to let that person in.
Didn't you already know that they would screw you over
To begin with?
I mean, I'm sure you saw it coming.
Look at what's going on; everyone is happy
And you, on the other hand, feel naked.
No need to feel that way - here, wear my jacket.
It's awfully cold huh?
