CBI files first charge sheet in coal scam

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday submitted a status report informing Supreme Court about the progress made in the coal scam probe and filed the first chargesheet. The Supreme Court had asked CBI, during the last hearing on February 11, to submit a status report about filing of charge sheet in six of the cases finalised by the agency.

The first chargesheet has been filed against Navbharat Power Pvt Ltd filed in the Patiala House court. Two promoters of the company, Vikrama Prasad and V Harish Chandra Prasad have been named in the chargesheet and booked for criminal conspiracy and cheating.
